Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1 — Arrival & City Wonders

  • When you start your Bangalore to Jaisalmer trip, you enter the Golden City where even the air seems to have been touched by history. Check into your heritage hotel, unwind, and prepare to fall in love with Jaisalmer’s old-world charm..
  • Begin in the historic Jaisalmer Fort which is a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the only living forts in the world. Walk its honeycombed streets where families still reside, look inside centuries old Jain temples, and take panoramic shots of the streets that appear to have been painted in shades of gold.
  • Then go to Patwon Ki Haveli. It is a complex of five royal mansions, built by the rich merchants in the 19th century.
  • Explore the popular Nathmal Ki Haveli and Salim Singh Ki Haveli. Each haveli has its own tale — from Nathmal’s artistic carvings created by two architect brothers to Salim Singh’s arched balconies, famously shaped like a peacock.
  • As evening falls, head to Gadisar Lake, which was once built to store the city’s water. Now, it’s a tranquil spot where ghats and shrines reflect in the waters — perfect for a boat ride.
  • Head back to your hotel for an overnight stay in Jaisalmer.

Day 2

Day 2 — Temples, Ghost Villages & Desert Trails

  • The second morning in Jaisalmer begins with the desert sun stretching its golden rays over the city. After a hearty breakfast, set out on a journey that blends faith, folklore, and Rajasthan’s raw beauty.
  • Tanot Mata Temple, which is situated not far away on the Indo-Pak border is sacred and legendary. It was also made famous in the 1965 and 1971 wars when the Pakistani shells could not explode in this place- a miracle that attracts pilgrims and curious travellers alike.
  • Enter into the creepy atmosphere of the Village of Kuldhara. It is a deserted village, which is said to have been deserted overnight during the 19th century. Its decaying havelis and broad courtyards provide a historical backdrop of the past - and there are numerous photography opportunities.
  • Go to the Desert National Park. The park has the Great Indian Bustard (one of the rarest birds in the world), foxes, and desert flora spread across the golden sand stretches and rocky outcrops. Perfect with the nature-lovers who want to explore the desert beyond the dunes.
  • In Jaisalmer, use your evening to walk around the markets there such as the Bhatia Bazaar. One can find mirror-embroidered cloth, woodwork and souvenirs bearing the artisanal spirit of Jaisalmer here.
  • Head back to your hotel for an overnight stay in Jaisalmer.

Day 3

Day 3 — Longewala Legacy & Sam Sand Dunes

  • Today is where history and adventure intertwine. After breakfast, pack lightly for a day that stretches across time and terrain.
  • Today, you will experience both history and adventure. Pack light after breakfast and spend the day, which will extend through time and terrain.
  • Visit Longewala, the location of the popular battle of 1971 when several Indian soldiers defended their position with insurmountable odds. Pay a visit to the war memorial, view the preserved tanks and bunkers, and experience the heroism of the past through narrated displays.
  • On your way to the Sam Sand Dunes, you will notice blackbucks and desert foxes. Keep your eyes out for desert flora and fauna.
  • Reach the dunes in the late afternoon. A camel ride here awaits you- enjoying the sunset, with the sand turning a fiery orange - a classic Jaisalmer experience.
  • Check into your desert camp.
  • The Kalbeliya dancers spin around to Manganiyar music as the camp comes alive when the night falls. Enjoy a warm beverage, sit within a bonfire and have delicious Rajasthani delights under a star-filled sky.

Day 4

Day 4 — Departure

  • On your final morning, the desert bids you farewell.
  • On the last morning, you are bade farewell by the desert.
